Speed of Air's patented engine technology creates a drastically more efficient combustion process which results in a number of closely related benefits. Our technology creates sufficient lean burn to significantly reduce NOx while also reducing CO and HC emissions. Because more fuel is being completely burned in the combustion chamber, fuel consumption is decreased per Brake-Specific Horse Power. Likewise, available horsepower and torque are increased per specific fuel consumption. Finally, the reduction in carbon deposits—which resolve as soot in the engine oil—allows for extended oil change service intervals while prolonging the life of all lubricated bearing surfaces.

Just thought I would drop a line to let you guys know how impressed l am with the 6.0L engine build you did for me with the SOA pistons.I have about 1000 miles on the engine. I am already seeing unbelievable fuel mileage, 22-23 mpg. I can wait to get off winter blend diesel and on summer blend which has higher BTU value which should put me into the mid twenties on fuel mileage. I also notice a little more horsepower and seems to run cooler as well.I also notice a little more horsepower and seems to run cooler as well. Thanks again, ---------Jody G
Let me tell you I was nothing but impressed and happy with the decision I made! First off, the engine ran incredibly quieter than before, I even had it running beside my 2012 and with both hoods open you couldn’t even hear the engine idle over the other truck. Secondly, the power difference was extremely noticeable. I was running the same add-ons from my old engine to my new engine and I couldn’t believe how much faster the turbo spooled and how much cleaner the truck was running, and even with it being brand new I saw fuel mileage savings within the first 10,000km.
After having the DFC/SOA Cummins 5.9L installed and driving it for more than 14 months and over 35000 km, I have had nothing but a very positive experience. The truck is used to haul skid steers and various trailers. Some of the advantages that that I have noticed are the definite increase in torque and fuel economy and the truck also seems to run cooler and quieter. The noise level seems less. I would highly recommend this engine to anyone looking to upgrade a truck or replace an engine. This engine outperforms my 2009 Cummins and gets substantially better fuel economy.
Charlie Eden has his new DFC Diesel Rebuilders / Speed of Air Engine Technologies LLY Duramax on the road!! He reports quieter, smoother, better throttle response / power and already getting 15% better fuel mileage....and he's still breaking in the engine!!!
Speed of Air Customer, Dean Meryhew reports: "The engine runs great so far, but we haven't gotten it fully broken in yet. So far it is getting 22mpg highway and no smoke. EGTs are nothing to worry about at all even when towing. My son was impressed we were getting 18mpg running over 80mph across Utah. I will be happy to keep you updated on mileage and performance once the engine is fully broken in."
